The 5 AI Tools I Actually Use (And What I Use Each One For)

My Favorite AI Resources Right Now (The Ones I Actually Use)

Hey Reader

Can I be honest with you for a second?

There are approximately 4,732 AI tools on the internet right now. (Okay, I made that number up. But it feels true, doesn't it?)

And every week there's a new one promising to change your life, save you 10 hours, and probably do your laundry too.

So today I'm not giving you a list of every shiny new tool I stumbled across. I’m not even going to share the tools I sometimes use. I'm giving you the short list of tools I use weekly, sometimes daily. The ones that have earned a permanent tab in my browser. The ones I'd recommend to a friend over coffee.

Let's get into it.

🛠️ The Tools I'm Using Right Now

1. Claude AI — My AI Writing Partner

If I had to pick just one AI tool, it would be Claude. Full stop.

I use it for everything — help with drafting newsletter content, brainstorming ideas, refining my brand voice, thinking through my writing strategy. But what makes Claude different from everything else I've tried is how well it listens. When you give it real context about who you are and who you serve, it stops sounding like a robot and starts sounding like a really smart collaborator.

It's also the foundation of everything I teach inside Content Confident (more on that to come). If you're not using Claude yet — start here. I highly recommend the paid version (Claude Pro) at about $20/month, but the free version can get you pretty far, too.

2. ChatGPT — My Thinking Partner for Ideas & Strategy

ChatGPT and Claude live side by side in my workflow — and they serve very different purposes.

When I need to brainstorm, think through a business strategy, or explore an idea from multiple angles, ChatGPT is where I go. It's like having a smart, always-available thought partner who never gets tired of your questions. I especially love using it when I'm in early-stage thinking mode and not ready to write anything yet. Again, you can do more with a paid plan, such as ChatGPT Plus (also about $20/month), but you can start with the free plan.

3. Perplexity — My Go-To for Research

If you're still using Google as your primary research tool, Perplexity is going to feel like an upgrade you didn't know you needed.

Here's what makes it different from Claude or ChatGPT: those tools generate responses based on their training data, which has a cutoff date. Perplexity searches the live web in real time for every single query. So, when you need current stats, recent news, or up-to-date industry information — this is the tool you want.

It also gives you cited sources right alongside the answer, so you can verify exactly where the information came from. No more wondering if what you're reading is accurate or outdated.

I use Claude for help with writing and ChatGPT for strategy. I use Perplexity when I need to know what's happening right now.

Currently, Perplexity PRO also costs about $20/month. I was lucky enough to grab last year’s one-year free subscription as a PayPal user. If you didn’t get the chance to grab this offer, keep a look out for other Perplexity deals. Perplexity sometimes runs other partnerships, such as:

  • telecom bundles
  • student/education programs
  • device partnerships (phones, TVs, etc.).

These change frequently.

4. Gamma AI — For When You Need to Look Like You Have a Design Team

I used Gamma AI to turn one of my workbooks into a beautifully formatted lead magnet — in minutes. Not hours. MINUTES.

It's now one of my go-to tools (ok, so not weekly, but likely will start using it monthly). I might even cancel my Canva subscription and use Gamma instead (gasp!). But not sure yet, Canva is a hard tool to let go of!

If you've ever stared at a blank PowerPoint slide and felt your soul leave your body, Gamma is for you. You give it your content, and it handles the design. The results look professional enough that people will absolutely assume you hired someone. (You don't have to tell them you didn't. 😄) Gamma is really that amazing!

Currently, Gamma Plus, the lowest-paid tier, costs about $8-$10/month. But here’s the crazy thing, I recently created two lead magnets at ZERO cost. So, yes, the free version works great!

✨ This Week's Sponsored Resource

1,000+ Proven ChatGPT Prompts — FREE from Superhuman AI

You now know I believe workflows beat random prompting every time. AND I also believe having a library of well-crafted prompts is a genuinely useful starting point — especially when you're just building your AI muscles.

Prompting is also vital for creating the perfect images and videos with AI. And you absolutely need good prompts for creating landing pages, apps and websites with AI (topics I'll be exploring in upcoming newsletters!) 🧨

Superhuman AI has put together 1,000+ tested, ready-to-use prompts used by over 1 million professionals. They also send a daily 3-minute newsletter packed with new AI tools and tutorials so you're never behind the curve.

And right now? It's free.

The Bigger Picture

These five resources aren't magic. They won't replace your voice, your strategy, or your relationship with your audience.

But they WILL save you time. They WILL reduce the overwhelm. And when you learn to use them together — as part of an intentional workflow — that's when things start to shift.

That's exactly what we dig into inside Content Confident, my upcoming beta program for solopreneurs and small business owners who are ready to stop winging it with AI and start building a system that works.

Beta round coming soon. Stay tuned. 🙏

Your Turn 💕

Which of these tools are you already using — and which one are you most curious about trying?

Hit reply and tell me. I genuinely love hearing what's working (and what's not) in your world. ✨

Until next time — keep building, keep creating, and remember you don't have to figure this out alone.

Walking this path alongside you,

Ana

P.S. I Know You Didn’t Ask but … I’ll let you in on a little secret. I’m using a proprietary app that helps me come up with the perfect AI prompt in less than 2 minutes. I just plop it into whatever generative AI tool I'm using and I get awesome results!
